2015 Year in Review at Advanced Medical Reviews

2015 has been another transformative year for healthcare, and here at Advanced Medical Reviews (AMR) we have been especially grateful to work together as we continue to live and work by our belief statement – “We believe every patient should receive quality healthcare.” As the year comes to an end, there are several noteworthy moments I would like to share with you.

The Affordable Care Act has given us more opportunities to touch lives in need of quality healthcare, as our peer and utilization management/review services have become even more necessary in the marketplace.

We enjoyed quite a few trade shows in which we connected with fellow industry professionals and learned about the latest advancements in everything from workers’ compensation to pharmacy benefit management.

Our blog also featured essays from our staff members with their reflections on AMR’s belief statement. It has been an honor for me to work with such an outstanding group of individuals who truly believe that “every patient should receive quality healthcare.”

We also started making our mark earlier in the life of a medical case by doing case reviews towards the front end of the patient’s treatment. Our clients tell us that they are also growing, and asked us to partner with them to help meet the increased demand for in-house review competencies. Thus, we continue to take on cases our clients would normally review with an in-house doctor. We’ve branded this type of review “Advance UM” with the “UM” standing for Utilization Management (aka Utilization Review).

More than anything, I am always moved by the stories of patients who we have helped. In a small town in Kentucky this year, we assisted a seven-year old boy who was stabbed in the eye by a bully on the school bus. As parents, brothers, sisters, etc. we may not always be there when the health of our loved ones is put in jeopardy, but we strive to make sure they are cared for in the best possible way through our work at AMR.

AMR is evolving as a company and with that growth we strive to continue to live our values of dedication, selflessness, and a can-do attitude. We are committed to honoring, in all that we do, our underlying purpose of helping patients receive quality healthcare.

Happy New Year!
